Katherine George
BOOK WRITER. Kevin is a California born, upstate NY raised, Brooklyn based theatermaker. After spending most of his younger years performing in community theaters in upstate New York, he decided it was time to make a change. After recieving an Associates in Performing Arts from Dutchess Community College, he studied theater at Brooklyn College. He recently discovered a love for playwriting as a way to facilitate social shange. Black & Blue is Kevin's gift to the world as he hopes it will help people to see that we aren't all that much different fomr one another.
POETRY. Katherine George is a Dominican performer, writer, educator, and director from Bronx, NY. For her, performing and using literary and performance pedagogy to reach young adults is her biggest passion. After experiencing it firsthand, Katherine believes art can change lives and looks forward to helping others find their own transformation through all forms of art and expression. Black and Blue is an opportunity to dissect a prevalent issue while making space for healing to take place.

MAYA. Mildred Victoria , is a recent graduate of Brooklyn College's BFA Theatre Acting program. Most recently she has been in the following productions : Drive By at The Gallery Players, Much Ado About Nothing, Middletown, The Scarecrow and Picnic at Brooklyn College. KRISTEN. Emma Tracy Moore is a graduate from Circle in the Square Theatre School (NY) and Randolph Academy (Toronto). Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Emma started singing and dancing at a young age which lead to a love for the theatre. Some credits include: Come Back to the Five & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean, Bat Boy (CITS), Cyrano de Bergerac, Hair (Bathurst Theatre), Jesus Christ Superstar (TUTS), Joseph...Dreamcoat (Footlight Theatre Co.), A Midsummer Night's Dream, Our Town (Kay Meek Theatre)
MARK. Originally from Providence, Rhode Island Ty moved to New York City in pursuit of a 4-year degree at St. John’s University. Upon the suggestion of a roommate, he began acting as an elective and quickly took it up as a career. After graduating from St. John’s, Ty continued studying acting at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts graduating in 2014 with the Lawrence Langer Award for Voice and Speech.

MIKE. Chase Burnett is a Film and TV actor who is so stoked to get back to his main bitch: the stage. Chase first appeared in the 2011 NYC Fringe Festival in "The Bobbed Haired Bandit", and again in the 2013 Sydney Fringe Festival in "Alarum". The character Mike in "Black&Blue" is a role that is close Chase's heart. Having grown up with a cop in his immediate family, he has seen what it's like to be a good cop in a world that's not always good. Hope you enjoy our show! (Thank you Mom, Dad, Lorne and Kaitlyn)


DIRECTOR. Arielle is a Brooklyn-based director and full-time theatre teacher in the New York City Public schools. Most recently, Arielle created, directed and produced the Off-Broadway musical Can Do Duck: The Musical which had a sold-out run at the Lynn Redgrave Theater at Culture Project and received rave reviews including in the NYTimes. Arielle is a graduate of the Educational Theatre program at NYU Steinhardt and has a passion for creating impactful and motivational theatre. She hopes Black and Blue will help educate and inspire people to take action in their communities to promote justice, peace and acceptance.

Sergio Jimenez, raised in the Bronx, is a Spoken Word Artist transitioning into Theater. He is currently an ambassador of Urban Word NYC and The Bomb Shelter, as well as the Poet In Residence for Michael Geffner's Inspired Word NYC and the President of the national competing Brooklyn College Slam Team. Sergio has performed across the nation, from Chicago to Texas and all around the five boroughs. Black & Blue is the second theater production Sergio has been apart of, and he's been more than excited to be apart of the ensemble.
